Arjun Rampal
Popularly called ´God of the ramp´, Arjun Rampal descended on the modelling scene some five years ago. Discovered by ace fashion designer Rohit Bal, Arjun earned Society´s Face of the Year title in 1994.
Arjun was keen on making a career as an international model. But once on the international modelling scene, he didn´t find it very encouraging as the top line-up of male models abroad were in the age bracket of 17 to 21 years and according to Arjun, it would have taken him at least a couple of years to make it big. This dissuaded him from making a career there and he finally chose to stay in India.
Today, Arjun has carved a niche for himself amongst India´s top male models. Married to supermodel Mehr Jessia, he is all geared up to take our very own tinsel-town by storm. He is also undergoing training in Indian classical vocals, basically for voice modulation, and is busy taking Urdu lessons to get his diction right. Not to miss, he´s even learning the thumkas and jhatkas of Hindi film dancing!
Currently, the stunner is busy working on Ashok Mehta´s Moksha opposite Manisha Koirala, and Shantanu Sheorey´s Jadh, co-starring Jackie Shroff and Smriti Mishra. Though the films are yet to be released, there is already much talk about his acting capabilities and the speculation is: will he make it big in Bollywood?
